Face coverings must be used at all outdoor events, such as markets, fairs, demonstrations and shows, organized in Florence over the Christmas holidays.

On December 18, 19 and 24, between 2 and 8pm, pedestrians must observe a one-way system marked by barriers and manned by the police in the following areas of Florence: via dei Calzaiuoli (between via de’ Tosinghi and via Porta Rossa), with access from piazza Duomo and exit from piazza della Signoria; via Calimala (via porta Rossa-piazza della Repubblica), with access from via Porta Rossa and exit from piazza della Repubblica.

Failure to observe the rules may result in a fine ranging between 400 and 1,000 euro.
