The US Consulate in Florence can provide advice on overseas voting in the November 3 US elections.
The U.S. Consulate General in Florence offers free diplomatic pouch service for completed, sealed ballots. You can drop your ballot at our office located at lungarno Amerigo Vespucci 38, on Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. No appointment necessary. (Please note that the Consulate is closed on Italian and U.S. federal holidays.)
U.S. citizens can receive an absentee ballot by email, fax or internet download, depending on the state they are eligible to vote in. Most U.S. citizens aged 18 years or older who reside outside the United States are eligible to vote absentee.
To vote from abroad, you must register with local election officials in your state of voting residence and request an absentee ballot. You can use the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) to do both. Submit a new FPCA early each year, every time you move, and whenever you change your address, email or name.
It is strongly recommended that you register as soon as possible and vote early as the November 3 election is quickly approaching and many more people will be voting absentee this year.
