The March 1, 2018 snowfall in Florence Italy took nobody by surprise. Schools, buses, trains and workplaces were all prepared with a “piano neve” (snow plan) that made the day a pleasure rather than an inconvenience. Florentines woke up to a blanket of clean white snow on the ground, just enough to play in and make a few snowmen. Children were given the day off school. Parks and streets were full of families enjoying the extra vacation and snapping pictures (The Florentine’s staff went out and took many as well).
First thing in the morning, we reached out to Riprese Firenze, who were as excited as we were to get out and record this rare happening. This video is their impression of snow in Florence.
