Blyth Academy will open its doors in Florence in September 2017. Founded in Canada in 1977, Blyth Academy was a pioneer in the early years of education and today boasts 17 schools all over the world, in the US, Canada and the Gulf. Now Blyth Academy is taking the next step into the European education sector by opening a permanent home in Florence after almost 40 years of sending Blyth Academy students on study programs to the Tuscan city.
Situated in the leafy residential neighbourhood of Campo di Marte, at via Jacopo Nardi, 18, Florence’s newest international secondary school will offer academic excellence through the Canadian accredited diploma and the Cambridge IGCSE and A-level programs.
Blyth Academy Florence aims to integrate with the city’s existing educational fabric through a cooperation with the Kindergarten School, enabling Italian and international students to fulfil a complete Cambridge K-12 education from 1 to 18 years.
A truly international school, students at Blyth Academy Florence will have the unique opportunity to do an exchange for a term at one of Blyth Academy’s campuses in Canada, USA or Global High School, which operates in Europe, South America, Australia and New Zealand, with Asia as a new addition for 2017-18.
There’s a personal connection to Florence for CEO and Founder of Blyth Academy, Sam Blyth. “This is the first school we’re opening in Italy. Initially, when we started we were looking to bring Canadians to Italy, but over one of those typical late dinners among friends we realised that the school would be interesting to Florentine families too.”
