It’s that time of year again! On November 27, Firenze Marathon will uniting approximately 11,000 runners, attempting the route over 42km and 195m taking them past all that is astoundingly beautiful in Florence. That’s 22,000 feet pounding the cobbled streets of the old town and the tarmaced surfaces of the suburbs, too.

Like in 2015, a group of Florentine and adopted Florentine runners will be taking on this challenge for a very good reason: to raise funds for the famous Meyer Children’s Hospital in Florence.

Stampa

The hospital provides incredible care not only for Florentine children but for kids from all over Italy and indeed Europe due to its specialised facilities, and donations make up a huge part of the hospital’s financial resources.

The Fondazione Meyer has created a donations page and T-shirts are being printed for fans who will provide much needed support along the route. Constantly updated news can be found (in English and Italian) on the official Facebook page

How can I get involved?
We are currently looking for runners to join our team. Soon supporter T-shirts will be available for purchase. On the day we need “screamers” on the side of the road. Everyone can do something and every little action helps.
