From June 23–30, Master students at the European Institute of Design (IED) will host an exhibition in collaboration with Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, held at IED and the OnArt Gallery. Titled #tantecose, and inspired by the current Palazzo Strozzi exhibition From Kandinsky to Pollock: the Art of the Guggenheim Collections, the exhibition will explore the importance of collectionism in art, highlighting how it has shaped culture, artistic knowledge and history.
Sixteen international artists studying at three different art institutes in Florence–the Accademia delle Belle Arti, Fondazione Marangoni and LABA–are featured in the exhibition. Through performances, installations, painting, photography, sculpture and video, the exhibition will focus on how art collecting has served as a way of preserving and presenting an era.
An opening reception with aperitivo and performances will take place on June 23. Events will be spread across the two separate galleries, beginning at IED at 5.30pm and proceeding to OnArt Gallery at 7pm.
