Gianluigi Quinzi claimed an historic victory in the Boys’ Singles Championships at Wimbledon, beating Korean Hyeon Chung 7-5 7-6 (2) in the final after 1 hour and 45 minutes of top-notch tennis. Victory by the 17-year-old from Cittadella (Padua) makes him only the second Italian to win the juniors tournament at SW19—Diego Nargiso was the first Italian to claim the title 26 years ago. Upon hoisting the trophy, Quinzi admitted, ‘I was a little bit tight the first two games. But after I play my game and I win the tournament. I can’t believe that I win. I’m so happy.’
