Within days of culminating a successful season by reaching the Europa League, ACF Fiorentina have established their ambitions for the upcoming season through their activity in the summer transfer market.

Possible arrivals. It has been widely reported that Spanish international Joaquín Sánchez will soon be joining the Viola team. The 31-year-old winger, who has 51 caps for Spain, would add some much-needed quality to Florentine’s flanks. Another Spaniard who may be on his way to Florence’s Artemio Franchi stadium is Marcos Alonso, a 22-year-old left wingback, who appears to be ever closer to playing in a Viola shirt next season. Finally, Fiorentina have reportedly submitted a bid for Gustavo Munúa, a 35-year-old goalkeeper, who boasts 22 full international caps for Uruguay.

Possible departures. Transfer speculation surrounding star striker Stefan Jovetić continues to thrive. The 22-year-old has been widely quoted as ‘wanting a new experience’ and desires to play Champions League football, a prize that was taken away from Fiorentina in the final match of the 2012/13 Serie A season. Borja Valero has similarly been linked with a number of British clubs, but has publicly expressed a desire to remain a Fiorentina player for next season.

ACF Fiorentina will play the qualifying round of the 2013/24 Europa League Cup towards the end of July.
