New inspectors in red uniforms are now checking passenger’s tickets at the Pisa train station and the Santa Maria Novella station in Florence, even before riders board their trains. The controllers only patrol the stations, not the trains themselves, in order not to impede the work of the conductors, who will continue, as per usual, to validate tickets once the train has departed. These new inspectors will also serve as a source of information for travellers.
