Do you remember fun? One of the best American movies in
years, and already assured of classic status alongside the likes of Woody
Allens trenchant comedies of manners, Alexander Paynes Sideways as garnered widespread
acclaim. A bittersweet journey of self discovery in the Californian winelands
and homage to the culture of wine, it leaves an indelible impression on the
four principals and on the viewer. Sideways is beautifully
written, terrifically acted; it is paced and constructed with such understated
mastery that it is a sort of miracle. (Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian) Catch it
while you can! A rare treat.
